OCTOBER 18, 2018 - MEETING - MEADE HOUSE - 6:30 p.m.

NOVEMBER 1 - SPECIAL PROGRAM

"HISTORY OF THE WOMEN'S SUFFRAGE MOVEMENT"  presented by Katherine Durack, PhD.  This program will provide us with insight into this important movement.  The movement for women's rights was launched in 1848 at the Seneca Falls Convention organized by Elizabeth Cady Stanton and Lucretia Mott.

The 19th Amendment to the United Stated Constitution granted women the right to vote.  It was passed by Congress on June 4, 1919 and submitted to the states for ratification.  It was ratified on August 18, 1920 after a long struggle known as the Women's Suffrage Movement.

The ratification of the 19th Amendment led to the largest single one-day increase of potential voters in the history of the United Stated.

THIS PROGRAM WILL START AT 7:00 p.m. and WILL BE HELD AT THE SYMMES SAFETY CENTER, 8871 WEEKLY (45249).  IT IS FREE AND OPEN TO THE PUBLIC.  PLEASE PLAN ON ATTENDING.
